Ganesh Chaturthi festival is approaching. All over Goa we can see different places with beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha in Ganapati chitra shala (a place where they make the idols, paint and sell). Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 in Goa might not be celebrated like the pre-COVID era. However, now all are eager to welcome Lord Ganesha at home and celebrate in their own way. To make pan fried kantola, we slice teasel gourd, marinate it with spices, coat in spiced semolina(rava) and shallow frying less oil. Kakrol fry is a must try monsoon recipe. In monsoon, several seasonal vegetables are available, and you should always eat the vegetables available in that particular season. One such vegetable is teasel gourd or spiny gourd or forest bitter gourd. It is known as fa*gla, phagla, phagila,kantola or kakrol in local Indian languages.
